I have registered to participate in the Long Course of the Jackson County Triathlon. This takes me back to where the place of my very first triathlon, Longview Lake with the Kansas City Triathlon back in May.
1000 Meter Swim (2 Loops of Short Course)
25.53 Mile Bike (out and back-ish)
5 Mile Run (out and back)
While it's the same location as KC Tri, the routes are completely different.
This puts triathlon #5 on the schedule with a total of 6. There is a debate of putting another triathlon on the books in September but I need to make sure I'm doing the appropriate amount of race/training schedule for Beach2Battleship.
I LOVE racing. Love it, love it, love it; however, I've taken advantage of this being my first year to do as much as I could just to fully immerse myself in triathlon. I've tried to "slow my roll" a bit in the second half of the season but more races keep popping up that I want to participate in. Next year I have to be more methodological in my approach with leaving plenty of room for one-off races.
Awesome! I'll see you there. I did the duathlon on this course last year. I'm sure I'll be moving much slower this time around, but it should still be fun!
